One day, Golden Co-op Radio programs will offer a diverse range of music and locally relevant content. Programming will be done by your friends and neighbours, making it as ‘Golden’ as closing up shop on a pow day. Our news and culture programs will keep you up-to-date on what’s happening in our community and beyond…even when the power is out.

GCR has formed as a cooperative. That means it’s democratic, community-based, and it exists to help celebrate Golden’s unique culture. With this in mind, we want you and everyone you know to get involved. Here’s how:

• Express interest in being a sponsor or advertiser

• Come out to a Broadcasters Club to learn how to create or contribute to radio shows

They say it takes a village to raise a child. In the case of a community radio station, we figure it takes an entire town (and rural area) of about 7000. Every little bit of support helps us get closer to being on the airwaves with local content, diverse music, and essential messaging in emergency situations.
